"I ran a 4.49 at the camp," said Howard, "and Coach Reinebold told me to call him Thursday to see if I got an offer. He said that they're looking to offer two outside receivers."
"We lost a lot of weapons," Howard said, "and I'll be the number one target this year. Actually, it will be Dontrell Strickland and me (as the top receivers). Last year, I caught 30 passes for 450 yards and three touchdowns. I'm doing something every Monday through Thursday at the school this summer (in order to improve). I'm also working out on my own with weights and running on the (Mississippi River) levee."
"I went to camp at Memphis and ran a 4.50 there," he said. "I did awesome at that camp. I had a 4.37 shuttle and a 36 inch vertical. The coaches talked to me in their office and told me to keep working hard.
"I'm also hearing from Kansas, New Mexico State, Southeastern Louisiana, and Nicholls State. I went to ULM's camp at St. Amant High School and I'm going to Tulane's camp later this summer."
Howard had a huge spring game vs. 5A state runner-up Archbishop Rummel (Metairie, La.), catching seven passes for 100 yards against one of the best defenses in the state. He reports a 2.5 GPA and says that he'll take the ACT on Saturday.
