A visit in his future???

Does this California DT want to visit SMU? We talk with Serra's David Moala about his recruitment and the pressure he is feeling from Conner Preston. Come inside for the details!

The Mustangs are now 40% done with their 2011 recruiting class and already two defensive tackles have given their verbals. News that should please SMU fans.

But the Mustangs aren't done with the position. They will continue to recruit, looking for more depth and potential studs. One defensive tackle that is still on the SMU radar is Serra's David Moala. The teammate of Conner Preston, Moala was scouted by SMU during the spring.

"We have thought about going to the same school. All of us Serra guys want to do it because we have a bond so close," said Moala. "Preston is definitely trying to get me there if they offer. He's telling me about how they rebuilding and how there coaches are in love with my style of play. I've been thinking about them."

The Serra junior recorded 110 tackles, 12 sacks, and five forced fumbles in 2009. So far he is hearing from Idaho, San Jose State, Arizona, Oregon, and claims a verbal offer from Michigan.

"I'm interested in any offer I get. At this point, I don't really want to settle on any schools," said the 2011 DT. "I'm going to really sit down with my family and talk about it, but I really want to stay in the Pac-10. I do want to visit SMU though. I'm thinking of taking one with Conner."

Moala has spent the spring/summer losing weight from his 6'1 frame. Playing near 290 most of the season, Moala is down to 274 pounds.

"I'm trying to get slim so i can be more versatile. It would be cool to play a little DE this year."
