"Colorado State has offered and Texas Tech and Houston have said that they'll be sending offers," said the Brenham cornerback, who helped lead his team to the 4A Division II state finals last year. "I plan on taking official visits to SMU and Kansas.
"I like everything about SMU. They made me feel at home and I want to be a part of things there. I really enjoyed the bowl game against Nevada. I didn't know they (SMU) were going to come out like that."
In 2009, Hubert racked up 80 tackles, along with two interceptions and six passes broken up. He says that he normally runs the 40-yard dash in the 4.5 range, but that his personal best, which came recently, is a 4.48.
"Our defense was very fast last year," he explained when asked about Brenham's 2009 season. "Everybody on the defense ran under a 4.7.
"We have some young players this year who will have to step up. Our offensive line needs some work and we'll be inexperienced at the other corner. We have a big game in the third week against Houston Lamar. They're a 5A powerhouse that should give us a run for our money. They have good talent on both sides of the ball. In district, Montgomery is a team to watch. They have a good running back and a quarterback who throws the ball well."
