SMU checks in at No. 57

The Mustangs appear at No. 57 in the new Scout.com class of 2011 team rankings. With twelve known verbal commitments in the 2011 class, SMU currently sits 3rd in C-USA, behind No. 44 Houston and No. 55 Rice. Come inside to find out what else happened with the new ranking adjustments.

SMU finished No. 68 in the final Scout.com team rankings for the 2010 class. It earned them 4th in Conference USA and their highest team rating of any of the recruiting services.

Fast forward to today and the Mustangs appear at No. 57 in the new Scout.com class of 2011 team rankings. With twelve known verbal commitments in the 2011 class, SMU currently sits 3rd in C-USA, behind No. 44 Houston and No. 55 Rice.

From here on out, every time a commitment is added to the list, the Scout.com computer will automatically update the team rankings. Of course, a team of experts will always double check everything is in order at a later date.

At this point, much can't be point into these ratings. One team might have five commitments, another 15.

In other SMU recruiting news, Jonathan Yenga has been upgraded to a three-star linebacker, as much hinted by PonyStampede.com in earlier posts. He checks in as the No. 85 OLB in the country.

Going up one spot in the running back ratings was K.C. Nlemchi. He now is No. 46 overall.
