Decision Coming Soon

After getting his release from Mississippi State, 2010 grad Paul Crawford (Hebron HS) is set to sign with a school this week. Paul Crawford knows that he's about to make a decision on where to spend the next four years and the 6-foot-8 defensive end wants to weigh all of his options before signing on the dotted line.

"When Mississippi State released me from my letter of intent," said Crawford, "that opened some new doors for me. It's late in the recruiting game and so I've gotten all the schools that are interested in me and sifted through them, so I can figure out the best fit for me.

"I was supposed to sign with SMU today, but I decided to chill on that for a couple of days while I take an official visit to Florida International in Miami. It can't hurt for me to check out another school."

Crawford says that he'll make a decision late this week.

"I'm taking the visit on Thursday," he said, "and Monday, I'll be heading to my school of choice. All of the players who I've talked to - who are familiar with the recruiting game - say that you should take your official visits and so I'm going to see South Beach and then figure it out. This visit might actually strengthen my opinion on SMU. I'll know if SMU is the right place."
