Wall: "It was a heartfelt decision"

SMU landed another huge prize Wednesday with a commitment from offensive tackle Carter Wall, who had more than a dozen offers to his credit. What led to Wall's decision to go with the Mustangs? Hint: SMU's ace recruiter, Adrian Klemm, comes through once again.

SMU has been riding a tidal wave of recruiting momentum this summer and the Mustangs received more great news Wednesday evening with the commitment of three-star offensive tackle Carter Wall.

"I did some celebrating last night," laughed Wall. "It was a heartfelt decision to go with SMU. Everything just clicked on my last visit there. The biggest factor was my relationship with coach (Adrian) Klemm.

"I like the SMU staff. I like the system that SMU runs on offense. The education there was a huge factor as well. I'm planning on majoring in Business, but I'm not 100% sure on that. I hear that's where you can make the most money in the future."

Wall notified Klemm of his commitment yesterday.

"Coach Klemm seemed really excited about it," said Wall, who went on to describe his relationship with SMU's highly-respected offensive line coach. "He comes off as a genuine man, a nice guy who is approachable.

"He always seemed to honestly be himself. I talked to Ben Hughes, who plays for SMU, and he said the same things about coach Klemm."

Wall, who picked SMU over more than a dozen other suitors, can now focus on his senior season.

"We start two-a-days on Monday," he said, "and it's nice not having to worry about recruiting any longer."
