Levingston Plans Official Visits

SMU doesn't have much room remaining in its 2011 recruiting class, but the Mustangs are reserving a spot for offensive lineman Dontae Levingston. The California star has named three schools as his favorites, and he has mapped out the dates for official visits. Read on to get the details.

Dontae Levingston recently named his top three schools -- SMU, Oregon, and Washington - and the three-star offensive guard, who is ranked No. 47 in the nation at his position, plans to commit after taking official visits to each of the aforementioned schools.

"I'm going to Washington on September 18th, SMU on September 24th, and Oregon on October 2nd," said Levingston, who plays for one of California's top programs at Narbonne HS (Harbor City, Ca.). "After I complete those visits, I'll probably make my decision and go ahead and commit."

SMU is establishing a pipeline out west, as three commitments from California are already on board. What does Levingston think about that?

"It's good. It will be nice to have more people from California at SMU, if I decide to go there," he said. "Conner Preston, that's my boy. We're friends. I don't know the other guys from here that are committed to SMU, but if I go there, we'll have to come in and show these Texas guys how we get down - how we can play."

Narbonne, which faces Preston and Serra HS this season, has been practicing since last month, according to Levingston.

"We're in helmets and shoulder pads right now," he said. "We don't start school until September 13th. We start later than most people across the country, but we also don't get out for the summer until later.

"Practice is going good. It's really, really good - better than I expected."
