SMU commitment and Rowlett defensive end Zach Wood started his season off in style. The senior possibly had his greatest high school game to date.

Wood had 11 tackles, two sacks, two force fumbles, four tackles for loss, and a pass deflection in Rowlett's overtime win over North Mesquite.

"We went for two!" An excited Wood said after the game on Friday night to Scout.com.

The Eagles won 22-21. They will look to stay perfect next Friday night against Rockwall. Wood will be matched up against another SMU commitment, Jarrett Spencer.

"I don't know what it will be like. It would be different if I was actually going up against him. I wish him luck," said Wood.

Both teams will be 1-0 and it will be a game PonyStampede.com watches closely.
