Turner Talks Official Visit

Marcus Turner made the pledge to Southern Miss shortly after Coach Johnson's staff had taken over. He talks about his visit and opportunity to talk with all the coaches in this interview.

Marcus Turner profile

Turner committed just a few weeks ago to Southern Miss, and now he was able to just relax and enjoy his visit to campus.

"We had fun, we ate a lot and the coaches made us feel at home," the defensive back from McCalla (AL) said.

"I had already committed so it was fun just to go down there and meet the players and some coaches I didn't know yet. I am ready to get to school down there."

Turner enjoyed meeting some of the coaches he didn't previously know.

"I knew Coach Zo real well, but I got to know defensive coordinator Tommy West, and he is a grat guy," he said. "He is real fired up about our defense."

Turner projects as either a safety or defensive back at the next level. "They really don't know, they will have to see where I fit best," he said. "I can play either cornerback or safety. They said they can see me at either."
