The new staff at Southern Miss has made it no secret that they want to own south Mississippi in recruiting. They are going to go hard after the local prospects, and one they are staying in close touch with is the Purvis running back.

Taylor was on campus and enjoyed his day with the Golden Eagles.

"We went in there and watched them scrimmage at the start," he said. "After eating we were able to walk around and tour the facilities and see some highlights of Southern Miss.

"I really enjoyed meeting the coaches, they were all really great."

Taylor had a great first impression. "I was like, wow, I really like it here," he said. "The facilities, the weight room and locker room were all great, I loved it. I also enjoyed watching the offense."

He updated his recent recruiting status. "I am hearing from Louisiana Lafayette a ton," he said.

He also noted that Southern Miss is one school he feels comfortable at. "My Mom has always wanted me to go to USM because it is real close to home and she could come see me play," he said. "I've always liked them. We'll just see who makes an offer though."
