"Coach Arroyo, the new offensive coordinator, came and talked to my family, and it was a great experience," he said. "he talked to me about how he wanted to use me and wanted to tell my parents that they were going to make sure my academics were in order and that they would take care of me there."
Cox said Coach Arroyo has big plans for Cox in the new offense.
"He said with my frame they could use me either inside or outside," he added. "With the new offense we are about to run, we are going to rotate around and play in multiple places. He said if I need to play the X, then I can do that. He sees me at the X or Y."
Cox was very complimentary of Coach Arroyo as a person as well.
"I love him," he said. "He's a real down to earth guy who takes a business like approach. I can tell he is a player's coach, who really cares about his players."
Cox said for now, he's just going to get ready for football at the next level, and will be taking a visit to Hattiesburg January 25th.
He also has a message for Southern Miss fans concerned that he could still be looking around, "My recruiting process is over," he said. "It is Southern Miss to the top for me!"
