U of L looking for DT help in Louisiana

The defensive line is a spot the University of Louisville needs to add a couple of recruits in the Class of 2015 and on Thursday the Cardinals offered a standout prospect at that position from Louisiana. Check out Cardinal Authority for details.

Metairie, La., Archbishop Rummel defensive lineman Tyrell Jacobs was a key player on a Class 5-A state championship team as a sophomore.

The 6-foot-4, 260-pound Jacobs then had a stellar junior season and is now attracting college attention from all over the country.

Jacobs is edging close to double-digit scholarship offers after landing one from the University of Louisville staff on Thursday.

A three-star prospect on Scout.com, Jacobs also has offers from California, Mississippi State, Army, Navy, Lafayette and Louisiana Tech. He's getting a ton of interest from other schools in the South.

As a junior, Jacobs had 68 tackles, six tackles for a loss and four sacks.

U of L also offered Jacobs' teammate Kristian Fulton, a 6-foot, 165-pound 2016 defensive back. Fulton is a four-star prospect with other offers from Florida, LSU, Texas A&M, UCLA and others.

Another teammate offered was '16 defensive tackle Briston Guidry. The 6-2, 265-pound Guidry also has offers from Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Tennessee. He had 75 tackles, including 20 tackles for a loss, as a sophomore.

Cardinal Authority will keep you posted on Jacobs' recruitment.
