Ryan Johnson will be one of the top prospects out of the state of Alabama for the class of 2017.
The 6'4 defensive end out of St. Paul's Episcipal in Mobile, AL is already picking up offers left and right. One of his latest was from the Golden Eagles of Southern Miss who have signed several from the Mobile area in the past few years.
Johnson, a 4 star talent by Scout, took a few minutes to talk about his season and recruiting.
"It was a good season for me personally, I've been able to help my team defensively as well as offensively," he told GoldenEaglePride.com.
"We got closer, and into the playoffs, but I think I improved a lot this year. There is always room for more though."
Johnson said he was informed by his coach of the offer to Southern Miss.
"My coach told me about the offer when I was in the weight room last week," he said.
"I know they are a great program. They are having a solid year and are on their way back to the top like back in the day. I'm excited to see how the program continues to progress under this coaching staff."
Johnson said he's also picked up offers from Ole Miss, Georgia, Clemson, Auburn, Duke, Stanford, Vandy, Tennessee, Troy, South Alabama, and Kentucky.
