Morten, who currently holds eight offers, had a tremendous season for one of the top programs in the state of Alabama.  His team made a great run in the playoffs but fell short of their goal of a state championship.

"I had a great season and so did our team but we really wanted to win it all," Morten told  "We knew we had the team to do it and that's what hurts so much.  It is still staying with me, that's for sure."

Morten said now that his season is over, he's trying to narrow down his options in recruiting.

"I'm trying to decide on a top five and schedule a visit, but its hard because more schools are showing interest," he said.  "By the end of the month I'm going to have to just decide and then go with it.  My dad said eventually you are just going to have to cut it off and take my official visits."

What schools is he hearing from the most?

"Jacksonville State, Southern Miss, Missouri, Ohio, Colorado State, and a few more schools that I hear from all the time," he said.

Southern Miss is a school that has been with Morten from the beginning.

"They are telling me where I've stood with them from the beginning," he explained.

"They told me they are looking at some more LB prospects and they have told me the truth.  They might have some JuCo's coming in.  I like them because they've always been honest with me and they were the first to offer me and have always kept it real with me.  That means a lot to me.

"I know they are going after a conference championship now and they are focused on trying to get that big win this week."

He also just picked up an offer to Western Kentucky, bringing his offer total to eight.  He also holds offers to Alabama State, Dartmouth, Furman, Alabama A & M, Alcorn State, and Samford in addition to Southern Miss.

For Morten, it is about relationships.

"When I make my decision, I want to make sure I have a great relationship with the coaches," he said.  "Of course I want to go to a place to get a good education and where I can compete early too."
