Chip Lindsey has accepted the offensive coordinator position at Arizona State.
Lindsey coached for two years under Todd Monken, taking over play calling duties this year and putting up huge numbers for Southern Miss. Prior to coming to Southern Miss, Lindsey won a state championship at Spain Park High School in Birmingham, AL, then went over as a passing game analyst for Gus Malzahn at Auburn.
"Chip is an outstanding coach who has an impressive track record leading him here to Southern Miss," said Golden Eagle coach Todd Monken of Lindsey.
"We share similar philosophies on offense and he has had success moving the football everywhere he has been in his career."
Lindsey helped Southern Miss put up eye popping and school record breaking numbers. The Golden Eagles averaged 40.6 points per game this season, 12th in all of college football.
His relationship with Todd Graham goes back to a connection with Gus Malzahn. Malzahn was an offensive coordinator for Todd at Tulsa, and Lindsey coached under Malzahn at Auburn.
For Southern Miss, Coach John Wozniak will take over play calling duties for the bowl game. Wozniak served as WR's coach this year and has a tremendous grasp of the offense. He also has an excellent repor with the players. He is considering the leading candidate for the offensive coordinator position at Southern Miss.
