Jacques Turner committed to Southern Miss back in October, and he's remained fully committed since that point to Coach Monken and the Eagles.
The talented defensive lineman from D'Iberville HS (MS) took his official visit this weekend to Southern Miss and completely sealed the deal on his future college.
"The visit made things more real for me and made it feel like I was already in school," Turner told GoldenEaglePride.com after his visit.
"It really helped out a lot because I got all my questions answered, I got to meet some of the profressors and talk about my classes. I'm so excited to be a Golden Eagle and the visit sealed the deal."
His host, Picasso Nelson, showed him a lot about what life would be like for an incoming freshman.
"He (Nelson) was one I could see being a great role model for us who are soon to be freshmen," he said.
"He's everything you look for in a football player on and off the field and in the classroom. It was fun being around him and the other guys."
That was a highlight of the weekend for Turner, just the chance to be around his future teammates.
"Being around the players was awesome, they all showed us a good time while we were there and they are just good people to be around," he added.
Turner said he's not sure about a major yet.
"I'm going to wait until after my first year to decide," he said.
