Jacob Johnson remains solid with the Golden Eagles

Jacob Johnson, offensive lineman from Spanish Fort High School, remains fully committed to Southern Miss..

Jacob Johnson is a 6'5, 310lb offensive guard from Spanish Fort, AL who committed to Southern Miss back in July.  The talented three star lineman took his official to Southern Miss this past weekend and came away impressed.

"It was great I had a really good time," Johnson told GoldenEaglePride.com.

"Dakota Siniard was my host and we met a bunch of the guys that just showed me around campus.  And man did we eat a lot of food."

Even a 6'5, 310lb lineman has his limits when it comes to good food.

"We ate good every day," he said.  "It was so great and so much I finally had to draw a line in the sand and say I tap out."

Johnson has been committed since July to the program and after a great weekend visit he's as committed as ever.  Even after the news broke about Coach Monken, Johnson was still completely locked in to his future with the Golden Eagles.

"It's not changing anything with me but I'm really happy for him," Johnson said.

"It's a great opportunity for him and his family.  I don't blame him at all."
