Cordarrius Bailey will be spending his senior season in Mississippi, and Clarksdale HS will be gaining an outstanding and versatile athlete.
The 6'4, 205lb LB moved to Mississippi after being one of the top prospects in the state of Nebraska.
"My family up and moved to Mississippi and I went with them because I knew I could play at a good high school," Bailey told GoldenEaglePride.com. "The adjustment is going great. The coaching staff is great and the team is nice and welcoming. We are trying to get a championship this year."
Bailey expects to play defensive end and tight end for his new school. It didn't take long for the Golden Eagles to jump on Bailey and extend an offer.
"I was so excited when I got the call from Coach Pollard," he said.
"He said they enjoy watching me play the game of football and they would love to have me. I knew some stuff already about Southern Miss so I was excited about it."
Bailey already holds offers to Louisville, Iowa State, Jackson State and Alcorn State. He said he is receiving interest from Alabama, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Nebraska.
Though he knows it is going to be a long process, he's already started to narrow down a few things he's looking for academically.
"I want to find a school that has a great business program because that's what I want to study," he said. "I like Economics a lot too."
Bailey said he also hopes to visit Southern Miss sometime in the spring.
