Koby Cumberlander has picked up an offer to Southern Miss, and has also been notified that he's right at the top of the early wanted list.
The new staff at USM is wasting no time at all in getting after the class of 2017. New defensive line coach Derek Nicholson has found one of his top prospects in Cumberlander, and he's already made the connection.
He informed GoldenEaglePride.com of the offer today.
"Earlier today the dline coach text me on how my day was going," Cumberlander said.
"And then told me I was his top prospect on list of defensive linemen, so he told me he wanted to offer me the scholarship to play at Southern Miss.
"I am just blessed and thankful that he would consider me their top prospect at that position."
Cumberlander also is receiving interest from Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, and Wake Forrest. Southern Miss is his only offer at this time.
"I don't know much about the school, honestly, but I want to know more about them," he said. "I'm excited about taking a visit and getting to know everyone more there."
