David Acfalle lands his first offer from Southern Miss

David Acfalle of Hewitt-Trussville has his first offer from Southern Miss..

The first offer is one a prospect will always remember.

For David Acfalle, CB from Hewitt-Trussville HS, that moment came when the Southern Miss coaches made the call to his coaches.

"I'm so excited about my first offer," Acfalle told GoldenEaglePride.com.

"It's a big time offer from a big time Division One school.  I'm very grateful and humbled."

The talented CB is sure to have more to come, but he said he's already built a good relationship with Coach Woz, one of the hold over staff members from Coach Monken's staff.

"I talked with Coach Woz last week and he wanted to get to know me and just talked about how I'm doing," he said.

"He said he really liked the way I looked on film, and he would have to show the DC.  We talked last night again and he told me that the staff thought it was a good idea to offer, so they did.  I'm so grateful for the offer and the coaches reaching out to me."

Acfalle said he has not visited campus but will be heading down in the spring for a visit, either to Junior Day or a spring practice.

He also said he's hearing from a few other schools but is letting his coaches handle that right now.  Southern Miss is his only offer.

"I'm so new to the recruiting thing that I let my coaches talk to anyone who is interested," he said.

Acfalle said he's going to continue to work out for football and get ready for the spring, all while keeping an eye on a visit to Southern Miss.
