Southern Miss continues to expand its recruiting horizons, and its only been a few days since the new staff has been on board.
The Golden Eagles have offered several talented prospects from south Florida already, and D.J. Robinson of Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach (FL) is one who already had a relationship with the staff.
The 5'10 CB knew Coach Pecoraro from his days at Alcorn State.
"Coach Tony Pecoraro offered me while he was at Alcorn State," Robinson informed GoldenEaglePride.com today.
"Then once he got a job at Southern Miss, he offered me a scholarship there."
Robinson said he got a call from Coach Pecoraro almost immediately after he took the job.
"He said he was going to Southern Miss and said he wants me to come to school there," he said. "I'm very excited about the offer."
Robinson was in the middle of work-outs, so he had to keep it brief, but he said he's working fully on lifting, running, getting in shape and also on his quickness. He hopes to take a visit soon to Southern Miss if he can.
