Damarri Mathis talks about his offer to Southern Miss

Damarri Mathis, CB, from Lakeland HS in Florida talks about his offer to Southern Miss..

Once again, the Eagles are looking to get in on prospects from the sunshine state.

This time, it is talented CB Damarri Mathis of Lakeland HS who has picked up an offer to the Golden Eagle program.

"Things are really going great for me right now," Mathis told GoldenEaglePride.com.

"Football and recruiting are going well and I have my first few offers which is always a blessing."

The Southern Miss coaches have made it clear that Mathis could be a part of something big were he to commit to the Hattiesburg school.

"They felt like I was a big time player that could come to the school and make a huge impace even as a true freshman," he said.

FAU has also offered Mathis, who said he knew about Southern Miss but not much about the football program.

"I really want to take a visit, but I'm really not sure if I'll be able to work that out in the spring," he added.

Mathis said he's also hearing from Bowling Green, U-Mass, and Iowa State.
