That first offer is always a big one.
The big time QB stands at 6'6, is 230lbs and from his film has tremendous pocket presence and accuracy. He certainly enjoyed his time on the campus of Southern Miss.
"I liked it a lot, the campus is very nice as well as the facilities," Alley told GoldenEaglePride.com.
"They've also started to renovate the weight room and locker room so the facilities are only getting nicer."
He also had a great meeting with Coach Hopson, who made him an offer before he left.
"He seemed to like me a lot," he said.
"He complimented me on my durability and says he liked my film a lot. He talked me through the offense a little bit and what they would expect from me and things like that. He also wants me to come up to the camp during the summer.
"Getting that first offer was an awesome feeling. It was very relieving because the recruiting process can be really stressful."
While it might be stressful, there is no shortage of programs hot on the trail of the Nease HS QB.
"I'm heading to Louisiana Lafayette tomorrow for a visit and then South Alabama Saturday," he said. "I've had interest from Troy and Central Michigan too."
As the process wears on, Alley said he knows what he is looking for in a school.
"Academics is always a big part of it, also somewhere that is not to far away from home," he said.
"The relationships with the Coaching staff are huge for me too."
Alley said he probably will not make it to the Junior Day at USM because he's also a big time baseball player and will be right in the middle of his season.
