Southern Miss has extended an offer to another talented QB, and for the second time in a week, they are the first to offer.
This time, the QB is Kohen Granier, from Destrehan HS in Louisiana. The talented, 6'1, 180 is the signal caller for a top program in the state, and is certain to attract a lot of attention.
He's already caught the eye of the coaches at Southern Miss, who extended him an offer and are hopeful to get him on a visit very soon.
"Coach Dawson contacted my coach and asked me to call him," Granier told GoldenEaglePride.com.
"He talked with me for a few minutes about where he coached and he told me they wanted to offer me. He said they look forward to watching me in the spring, too."
That first offer is always special for a prospect, and validation for them that they are college material.
"It meant everything I have worked so hard for is paying off," he said.
He's also hearing from Tulane, Arizona State, Columbia, Princeton, and Kansas early in the process.
Granier describes himself as a dual threat QB.
"I fell like I'm the type of QB that is good at reading the defense and using my arm strength to take what the defense will give me," he said.
"My strengths are using my legs to create more time and scramble if I need to in order to get those yards needed."
He has not set a visit to Southern Miss as of yet.
