Jaxton Carson has a unique blend of power and speed when the ball is in his hands. The talented 5'9, 205lb RB from Phenix City's Central HS has picked up another offer, this time from the Golden Eagles of Southern Miss.
The offer came after a relationship that has continued to grow and was started with former Southern Miss offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey.
As he always does, Coach John Wozniak has taken up the reigns on a prospect in Alabama. A few days ago, the Southern Miss staff made an offer.
"I had heard from Coach Lindsey a while ago, for my Junior season," Carson told GoldenEaglePride.com.
"Then, Coach Woz made me an offer and I was real excited about it. They said they want me at Southern Miss and they really want to bring me in for April's Junior Day."
Carson said he's certainly very positive about Southern Miss.
"I know they are a team I'd consider, but I need to take a visit to really see all that they have," he said.
"I'm also hearing from Western Kentucky, Troy, North Carolina, Jacksonville St, Purdue, Arkansas State and Cincinnati. I want to take some visits and start thinking about what I'm looking for."
For now, however, he's content to keep working and seeing what schools cross his path.
"I have some weaknesses I'm working hard on for a big season next year," he said. "I'm just doing everything I can to be the absolute best running back I can be."
