Southern Miss Lands a visit from defensive tackle Michael Adams

Southern Miss hosted a talented Defensive Tackle at practice yesterday, and he talked about it with

Southern Miss is always on the prowl for talented defensive tackles, and they have targeted one from Chattooga HS in Summerville, (GA).

Michael Adams is a 6'3, 295lb tackle who will certainly be one to watch as recruiting continues to heat up during the summer.  He was on campus Tuesday to take in a Golden Eagle practice, and came away very impressed with what he saw.

"I had a great time on campus and really enjoyed talking to the coaches today," Adams told

"I loved the facilities and how everything was organized.  I also loved how everything was new and all the new facilities were being built."

He also was able to spend time with the coaching staff, who he also was impressed with.

"They said they loved my film and that I was a great looking kid," he said.  "They told me to be patient that an offer was coming.  They are just now starting to recruit my area in Georgia so they said it was coming."

He's certainly well known in the recruiting world.

"It is going really well," he said.

"West Virginia, UCF, Middle Tennessee, Charlotte, Mercer, Cornell, and Jacksonville State have all offered me.  I also have a lot of interest from UNC, Florida, Alabama, Wake Forest, Purdue, Temple, Mississippi State, and Georgia Tech."

With talented defensive tackles at a premium, there is no doubt the battle for Adams will only continue to heat up.
