Javan Hawes is an explosive 6'0, 180lb play maker from the always loaded with talent Sandy Creek HS program in Tyrone, Georgia. Currently holding six offers, he's also interested in getting through with school for a possible December graduation.
"My summer is going great, it is grind time for me and my boys at Sandy Creek," he told GoldenEaglePride.com.
"Also, I'm working to take some classes this summer at the college level. The plan is to graduate in December but I'll have to see how things go in the fall."
Hawes also has heard from the Golden Eagles, one of the more recent schools to offer him.
"The coaches were saying they really want a explosive, fast reciever who can run crisp routes like me," he said.
"He also said they are getting new facilities built and that they want me to get to campus soon to take a tour."
Coach Nicholson first spotted the talented receiver back in the spring on a visit to the school, and he told Hawes about the tradition at Southern Miss.
"I found out things about them then, that was the only I really knew about the program," he added.
He also recently picked up an offer to Minnesota and said Cincinnati is very close to offering.
"I haven't taken any visits yet so I don't have any leaders," he said. "I do hope to make a decision later in the summer."
