Brian Hughes is a talented 6'3 QB from Richmond Hill, Georgia, who had a great day at the Southern Miss Elite camp today. He was among a group of over 150 prospects on the Hattiesburg campus for their first Elite camp of the summer.
Hughes made the 9 hour trip over to Hattiesburg from his home, but it was well worth the trip for him.
"We had a tour after the camp and saw everything on campus that had a great, nice looking feel to it," Hughes told GoldenEaglePride.com on his way home.
He gave us some details into the camp itself.
"We did testing first which is like the 40, shuttle, broad jump, and stuff like that," he added.
"Then we did agility drills as well. After that, we got to the good stuff which was 1 on 1's where I dropped some dimes and ran some routes."
Hughes said the coaches were constantly encouraging as they worked hard.
"Yeah, they were all the time saying, 'good job big man' or 'great job' and things along those lines," he informed us.
This will not be the last time Hughes plans to visit Southern Miss. He said he'll be back later in the summer.
"I love the campus, it just has that real home town feel that I like," he said.
In addition to an offer to Southern Miss, he also has offers to Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Charleston Southern, ULL, Mercer, Old Dominion, and The Citadel.
