Rodney Gill (6'3) G from Faulkner State Junior College in Alabama hopes to take a visit to Southern Miss this summer. He's being recruited by several schools, and it appears that list could continue to grow as his summer progresses.
The talented Guard played his high school ball at Theodore HS in Alabama, and now he's taken another step at the JuCo level. He believes the time will help him prepare for the top level of collegiate basketball.
"It has certainly upgraded my game," he told GoldenEaglePride.com.
"The pace is much faster and I have to adapt to it. It has me ready for D1 basketball, and also just working out so much has made me a better player."
Gill said he has a full summer ahead.
"I've been training and working out with a pro trainer down here in Mobile," he said.
"I also have a few more camps that I'll go to in July."
Southern Miss has shown a lot of interest in him, and it appears the feeling is mutual.
"I've been in contact with Coach Townsend, an assistant coach," he said.
"He is supposed to call me back and let me know when I'll take a visit. They want me to come down and work out with the team and tour the facilities."
He's also hearing from Southern Illinois, Iona, and South Alabama.
