La'Andre Thomas, (6'0, 165) WR/QB from Wingfield HS in Jackson, MS, is the type of athlete Southern Miss has turned into stars at the next level.
Thomas is a versatile prospect who will likely play QB for his HS this year, but he can play any skill position on offense or defense. With great speed and elusive quickness, Thomas will be one to watch this fall.
Southern Miss is the first to get in on him with an offer.
"Southern Miss has offered and told me they really want me," he told GoldenEaglePride.com.
"They want me to be a game changer for this program."
He's attended camp and made a few visits to USM, the school who is his clear leader right now.
"They are most definitely my leader, I love USM," he said. "They are recruiting me as a slot receiver and said they want to find ways to get the ball in my hands. I could even play quarterback, who knows."
Thomas said he's also hearing from Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Memphis, Alcorn and Louisiana Tech, though Southern Miss is the only one who has extended an offer.
He said he's just going to continue to work hard this summer and get ready for his senior season.
"I'll be in the weight room a lot and playing 7 on 7 with my team," he said. "I'm probably going to visit Southern Miss again too."
