Jaylan Jenkins is a talented WR from Clay HS in Florida who was eager to get to Hattiesburg for a visit after his offer to the Golden Eagle program.
The 5'10, 160lb speedster came away very impressed after his visit.
"The visit was great," he told GoldenEaglePride.com.
"They are building a new academic building for the athletes and they have so many places to eat and have fun."
Jenkins has a great relationship with his recruiter, Dan Disch. He also was able to meet several of the other coaches as well.
"The coaches are great, they make me really able to see myself in a Southern Miss uniform," he said.
"They were selling me more and more into their program. They were saying what position they see me at and even said at the end of the day it is my choice. They told me how much they wanted me and how much they thought I'd fit in to the program."
Jenkins said he almost made the decision to pledge to the Eagles, but he wanted to take one or two more visits to make sure. He also holds offers to Georgia State and Troy.
"I am real close to committing to Southern Miss," he said. "I want to wait until either right before my season or just into the beginning of it."
He's maintained all along that Southern Miss was his leader, and this trip did nothing to change that. In fact, it further solidified where he was leaning.
