Brooks Shannon, WR, was one of a smaller number of prospects on hand for the Southern Miss camp Friday afternoon. The talented receiver from East Mississippi made a tremendous impression on the coaching staff at the camp, and it resulted in an offer his way.
Shannon took a few minutes to detail the camp with us and how the offer went down as well.
"Camp was great at Southern Miss," he told GoldenEaglePride.com.
"I didn't run the 40, but I did great on the individual work outs. When we did one on ones, that is what sealed the deal with the coaching staff."
Coach Hop did the rest.
After the camp, Shannon was taken up to his office where Coach made the offer official to the talented receiver.
"He sat me down and told me why he really loved it there," he said. "He sold the school to me.
"He said they really want me in the black and gold and that I'd be a great fit at what they are trying to do."
"It is a great school," he continued.
"They have two receivers up there that played for East MS and they are recruiting me too. I'm not ready to make a decision but I do love it."
He also said he's hearing from Middle Tennessee and Alabama.
