Rasheed Jackson is a talented, 6'2 220lb defensive end who could be on the verge of a commitment.
The talented prospect from Pascagoula, Mississippi picked up the offer he was hoping for after a camp in Hattiesburg with the Golden Eagle coaching staff. He impressed them enough for them to go ahead and pull the trigger. He's certainly a rising star and a sleeper along the coast.
"I had a very productive summer and I really did well in all the camps," Jackson told GoldenEaglePride.com.
"I put on weight and really improved my speed and quickness."
The offer to Southern Miss was one that meant a lot to him, as he made clear.
"I was honored to know that they feel like I can help their program in the future," Jackson said.
"It is a great feeling, especially since they are so close to home."
Though he also has offers to Nichols State and Jackson State, and is hearing from a handful of others, Jackson has one school on his mind right now.
"Southern Miss is my clear leader," he said.
"I don't know when I will commit, but it will be sooner rather than later."
