Jones County WR Trevor Terry is off to a great start this season, and he's seen his team upset one of the top JuCo programs in the nation.
Jones took down top ranked East Mississippi Junior College 27-25 in the opening week.
"We are off to a great start but I really believe we can be more dominant," Terry told GoldenEaglePride.com today.
"I feel like I've played well. We were more dominant up front so we ran the ball a lot in the first game. I made it my goal to block well and convert on a few 3rd down plays to move the chains."
Terry, who committed to Southern Miss back in the summer, said he continues to stay in constant contact with the coaches at USM. Impressive especially considering how full the schedules have been for the Golden Eagle's staff with game week upon them.
"I talk to the coaches on a weekly basis," he said.
"They do a great job of just keeping in touch with me and letting me know how excited they are about me."
His status has not changed one bit toward the Golden Eagles.
"Southern Miss is where I want to be," he said. "I'm fully committed and am not going anywhere else."
Terry, who is set to graduate in December and enroll in January, said he also will watch every Southern Miss game he can. He was able to see the Kentucky game and left very excited about his future team.
"It was a great team win," he said. "I was absolutely pumped watching that come back and can't wait to be a Golden Eagle."
