Trevor Terry made the short drive from JCJC to the Southern Miss campus to take in the game Saturday against Troy. Though the game didn't go like he or his future teammates would have hoped, he still came away impressed with his time at the game.
"It was really a great game even though the Eagles didn't come out on top," Terry told GoldenEaglePride.com.
"I was impressed with the fan base. They were there and they were loud despite the rain and the conditions. They were there from start to finish."
Terry said the conditions did affect his visit.
"Because of the rain I wasn't able to talk to the coaches because I got there late," he said.
He's having a solid season for JCJC, though they are a mostly run team who likes to establish their size up front early. Terry knows his role and will do whatever it takes to get wins for his team.
"We do run the ball a lot, and my job has been to make plays when they come about and to block well," he said. "We have been getting wins but we have things to clean up to keep getting better."
Terry also said his teammate, Kelby Wickline, was happy with the recent offer to Southern Miss.
"It was one he'd been waiting on," he said. "He's a great player and a great guy. I'll keep working on him."
