Travon Mathis, DE from Lanett HS in Alabama took his second visit to Southern Miss when he was on campus for the Rice game this past weekend.

The talented 6'2, 262lb three star prospect detailed his visit Saturday.

"Well I got there pretty late but I enjoyed the game," Mathis told GoldenEaglePride.com.

"I got a chance to meet and talk to Coach Hopson and the DL Coach Nicholson, and I also got a chance to see the new locker room and weight room.  I really enjoyed myself.  I'm going to be back because Coach Wozniak has to give me a tour around the rest of the school campus."

Mathis said though he enjoyed his time, he's still on the fence about his commitment.

"I'm not sure yet to be honest but Southern Miss is in my top," he said.

"I have to visit a few more games and see a few more campuses before I'm ready to decide.  I have a lot to weigh out, that's for sure."

Mathis also has offers to Georgia Tech, Purdue, and Louisville among a handful of others.  With his unique blend of speed and strength, he's going to be a force to be reckoned with at the next level.

"I'm just working hard right now and trying to get my team a championship," he said.  "We are on our way."
