Willie Green Jr, son of former NFL Denver Bronco Willie Green, will be making his future home in Hattiesburg and enrolling at Southern Miss as a preferred walk-on.
The talented QB spent last season with Columbia, SC's Palmetto Prep where he had a stand-out season and caught the eye of the Southern Miss staff. Green, (6'0, 212) took a visit to Southern Miss and said he knew exactly where he wanted to spend the remainder of his career.
"I chose Southern Miss I enjoyed the school so much and academically it is one of the best schools in my eyes," Green told GoldenEaglePride.com.
"I have a very good relationship with Coach Hopson and after talking to him and being around the entire team and school it just felt like home and I enjoyed every minute of it."
Green also said he plans to enroll in January and will participate in the QB competition to replace Nick Mullens. He's an athletic, dual threat QB with a strong arm and certainly is coming in to compete.
"I'm a smart decision maker with the ball in my hands and have a great play making ability in any situation," he said. "Also, I win a majority of the games that I play in."
