Thomas Morton played QB in high school, but he projects as a TE at the next level. The talented 6'4, 210 ATH took his visit to Southern Miss this weekend, and came away knowing what he wanted to do with his future.
He decided he will be a preferred walk-on at Southern Miss.
"The weekend was just super awesome," Morton told GoldenEaglePride.com this afternoon.
"The highlight for me was telling the staff that I was going to commit to Southern Miss. It is a dream come true for me to say that I am going to be a Golden Eagle."
Morton knew all about the Southern Miss program and has taken plenty of visits, including Junior Day last year and visiting a game in the fall. This visit was all about getting to know even more of the players and staff.
"It feels like a giant weight has been lifted off my shoulders," he said. "It is great to know that without a shadow of a doubt this is where I'm supposed to be."
Morton said he will enroll in the summer and begin working out with the team.
