All righty everyone, time to hunker down and... wait....
Got a couple of announcements that the team is waiting on that I believe will dictate how the final few commitments/ signees go. This is going to be fun, no doubt about it. It really appears that a few guys have a spot with USM if they decide to take it, and if they don't then the coaching staff has a player or two on hold. They don't have room for them all.
Waiting on announcements from:
Gainer is a given as far as a spot is concerned. If he announces for the Eagles, and I believe that is trending up, then they'll have room for him. Believe the team to watch would be Tulane, where he took a visit before the one to Southern Miss. As soon as he decommitted to MSU, I've felt strong that USM was the leader for him. Anything can happen, as we see every year.
Flott announced that he has opened his recruitment back up. Southern Miss had a great in-home visit with him and we believe will be in the mix. My guess is that he'll be a signing day decision as well.
Davis was holding a signing day hat ceremony, he told Glyn after his visit. He had a strong visit to Southern Miss and came away very impressed. Houston is the likely team to watch with him, he took a visit there and they are losing some commits too so they'll have room for him if he goes that route.
AnalysisJaylond Adams is simply a weapon with the football in his hands. It may be as a wide receiver, running back or kick returner, but he is a threat to go the distance whenever he gets a touch. Adams gets to top speed in a hurry and also has the ability to move laterally extremely well, making it tough for defenders to corral him in traffic or in space. A smaller prospect, he is in need of polish as a wide receiver, where he is likeliest to play at the next level. Adams will also add bulk to his frame in college, where he is probably best suited to play in a spread scheme.
He had a great visit with USM on his official and has gone quiet ever since. He's a really big time talent. Schools from the Big 10 also battling for him like Illinois and Indiana.
Not sure that we've seen this much anticipation heading into a National Signing day in many years. This staff has come in and hit the ground running, and they are letting up until the very end.
