Curry Benn was excited, to say the least, about his offer to Southern Miss.
The talented 6'0, 170lb defensive back from Landry Walker High School in New Orleans said his offer to Southern Miss was something he's hoped for all his life.
"Coach Dawson followed me on twitter and I sent him my tape," Benn detailed to GoldenEaglePride.com.
"I told him that Southern Miss was one of my dream schools, and he sent me his number and told me to call him. They watched my tape and offered me."
He's followed the Golden Eagles all his life, and said his family has too. This led to his excitement about the offer.
"My uncle has been in my ear about schools that he believes fit me," he said. "Southern Miss breeds DB's, so it looks like it would be a great fit for me."
Benn, who also runs track, said he's also hearing from ULL, UTSA, and McNeese State right now.
"I am hearing a lot from Coach Wilson at UTSA and I know he had a Southern Miss connection," he said. "I feel like I'm starting to get the recognition I deserve, and I know it's only the beginning and many more will come."
He said he'll be visiting Southern Miss for Junior Day as well.
