D.J. Atkins talks about his early offers

D.J. Atkins is a talented multi purpose play maker from Callaway HS in Georgia. He talks about his offer to Southern Miss with GoldenEaglePride.com..

Explosive play maker D.J. Atkins is a 5'9, 160lb multi purpose talent who is starting to see the early offers come in.  The speedster has already picked up two, and is hearing from even more schools.

Southern Miss is the latest to make the offer to the Callaway HS rising senior.

"Things are going really well right now, I'm running track and staying in the books," he told GoldenEaglePride.com.

"Southern Miss offered and told me they love my style of play.  They love my quickness and everything so now it's time for me to show them what I'm capable of."

Atkins also said he knew about the program before the offer.

"I actually love it," he said.  "I love the atmosphere and everything.  It is going really well."

Right now, he has two offers, from USM and Mercer.  He's also hearing from North Carolina, Vanderbilt, and Navy.

Atkins can certainly do it all, and from his film (LINK) it is easy to tell that he will be an impact player at the next level.

"I play running back and slot," he said.  "I'm a small guy but you can tell from my film that I have heart so they both fit me.  I will be strictly a running back this upcoming senior season."

Atkins told us he plans on visiting USM for Junior Day.
