Kameron Jones is a 6'5, 265lb offensive tackle from Starkville, MS, and he's just picked up his first college offer.
Southern Miss is the first to get in on him. The Golden Eagles are working to continue their in-state success under Jay Hopson, and that first offer is always an important one for prospects.
Jones detailed how the offer went down with GoldenEaglePride.com.
"Our new head coach had sent them some of my film and they called him back and told him they like the way I play and they are going to offer me," Jones said.
"Coach Lindsey and Coach Hopson talked with me on the phone about how they liked how hard I play and they like how I play with an edge. They see me as a very athletic player on their roster in the future."
Jones is also high on the in-state program.
"I like how Coach Hopson and Coach Lindsey are treating me," he added. "It seems like a great program, and it is not to far from home."
Southern Miss is his first offer, but he said he's hearing from a handful of other schools. He also said he hopes to attend on Junior Day this year.
