Southern Miss hosted a few prospects who were able to take in the second day of spring work-outs. One on hand was talented 6'5 safety prospect from Vestavia Hills HS, Jonathan Hess.

The safety was able to take in not just practice, but a full unofficial visit to see the campus.
"I loved the campus," he told GoldenEaglePride.com. "The facilities were great and the campus was very pretty."
He also was impressed at practice, where he was able to see the coaches to their thing.
"They were intense, and I love the way they coached," he said. "I was watching Coach Hopson and how he demonstrated himself everything that he was coaching. I liked that a lot."
Hess also said that he is hearing from a variety of schools, but does not have any leaders at this point.
"Auburn, Tulane, UAB, Troy, Jacksonville State, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Louisville, Duke, Yale and some other Ivy League schools are all in the mix in addition to Southern Miss," he said. "Southern Miss is the only school with an offer that I've visited, so I have a lot of time before I know anything."
