DeMichael Harris talks about his commitment to USM

Southern Miss got some good news today when JuCo speedster DeMichael Harris committed to the Eagles. He talked about his commitment with GoldenEaglePride.com..

There has never been any question about DeMichael Harris's speed.

The 5-10 175 speedster more than proved that at St. Aloysius High School in Vicksburg Mississippi where he was a football and track star. During the 2015 track season Harris won the Gatorade Mississippi track athlete of the year award after recording a 10.55 100 meters, 20.8 200 meters, and 47.86 400 meters to dominate the field in the Mississippi state meet. His time of 20.88 in the 200 meters was the 9th fastest time in the nation for a high school athlete that year.

When asked about his commitment to Southern Miss Harris had this to say, "It feels amazing!! I'm just ready to wear that Black and Gold."

"Every since I was in high school coach Hopson and I had established a great player coach relationship. He is a great coach who I have the greatest respect for."

Michael gave GoldenEaglePride.com his thoughts on how the recruiting process went for him. "After this past season I was in constant contact with coach Pollard and coach Lindsey. On March 28th, my parents and I went down to Southern Miss and it just felt like home. We talked to coach Dawson and he told me how dangerous of a weapon I could be in his offense. Coach Dawson told me they want to use me as a kickoff return guy, as well as an open field offensive threat."

Michael will be a December graduate and plans to run track as well as play football at Southern Miss.
