Three star Ridge Point HS (TX) QB Aaron Allen added to his growing list of offers when the Golden Eagles of Southern Miss came calling.
The dual threat, 6'0, 175lb signal caller led Ridge Point High School to an 11-1 record and a second-round playoff appearance in Texas Class 6A Division II as a junior. He accounted for 2,620 yards and 30 total touchdowns. Allen threw for 2,398 yards, 26 TD's, and four INT's while completing 62.5 percent of his passes. He also ran for 222 yards and four scores on 4.6 yards per carry.
Southern Miss and coach Walden have taken notice, and see Allen as a future leader of their spread offense.
"Coach Walden said he knew I was a guy he wanted to offer right after he saw my film," Allen said.
"Looking forward to taking a visit sometime in summer. He will be down to see me in May."
For now, Aaron is getting his work on the diamond where he's also an outstanding baseball player.
"Off season is going well," he added.
"I'm in baseball right now so haven't done much football related as far as with the team . Mostly I just workout when I have free time and working on my speed and tuning up my footwork and keeping a quick release."
Southern Miss is his 8th offer, and he listed out the schools he's hearing from a lot right now.
"Texas Tech, Dartmouth (Ivy league) recruits me pretty hard," he said. "Also Baylor, Marshall, and Indiana."
"I heard from all those schools last week."
Allen said he also hopes to take a visit to Southern Miss this summer.
