Jordan Rucker is a true lock-down corner out of Denton Texas, Ryan High School .At 6-0 175, Rucker specializes in press coverage using his size and physicality to smother receivers. Jordan is presently sitting pretty with 9 offers with USM, Purdue, SMU, Rice right at the top. The Eagles lose Cornell Armstrong, Trae Collins, and Curtis Mikell after the 2017 season so finding true corners is a big need on the Southern Miss shopping list. Look for the staff to sign at least three high school corners and one junior college corner that can come in and compete for a starting spot next spring.
Jordan had this to say about his Southern Miss offer, "Just like any offer I have received I was very excited ! Knowing a couple of people in Mississippi made it even more exciting. I feel really blessed to be given this opportunity. I met coach Billings today but I definitely was not expecting an offer tonight. I am so glad I met him and for the opportunity that Southern Miss has given me. When coach Billings gave me the offer he told me that if I worked hard he could see me starting young."
When asked to describe his game Jordan told GoldenEaglePride.com, "First of all I am a very competitive person. I love being physical and getting my hands on receivers. I feel I can lock down a side of the field. That usually equals a win!"
I asked Jordan what he was looking for in a program. He had this to say, "Most importantly I am looking for a program that will help me get a great education. I am looking for a program where I can build great relationships with my coaches, teammates and even professors. I am looking for a school that will push me to be the greatest. Distance is not a big concern because I know no matter where I go that my family will support me."
Jordan is looking to make an unofficial visit to Southern Miss later this summer with his family. He also is interested in majoring in business.
