Ricky Travis is a dual threat QB who has picked up an offer from Southern Miss, his first FBS offer.
Travis (6'3, 185) plays at St. Helena Academy in Greensburg, LA, and is picking up interest from schools across the country. The Golden Eagles were one of the first to pull the trigger though.
"It felt good to get that first offer from Southern Miss," he told GoldenEaglePride.com.
"I can't wait until this summer to go back camp and enjoy myself, and also to show the coaching staff the best of me. Maybe I'll just be spending my next 4 years as a Golden Eagle."
He said the staff loves his dual threat abilities.
"They told me they love how athletic I am and they really can't wait to see me compete when I come to camp this summer."
Travis, who now holds a few offers, said he's hearing from a bunch of schools at this time.
"I am hearing from Auburn, Louisiana Tech ,ULM , ULL , Arkansas Pine Bluff, Florida State, LSU , Mississippi State, Grambling , Jackson state , Louisville, and Alabama but I have to go back there this summer. Also, I'm hearing from Tulane," he said.
The talented QB is planning on his visit to Southern Miss with his family on June 17th.
