Goshen Defensive End/ OLB Devin Bell talks about his first offer from Southern Miss with

It is no secret that the Southern Miss defensive staff is looking to add some length on the edge in this recruiting class. One such player planted firmly on USM's radar is Goshen High School Alabama defensive end Devin Bell. At 6-5 235 pounds and possessing a large wing span, Bell has made life difficult on opposing tackles and quarterbacks alike. Bell has all the physical attributes to be a dominant defensive end at the next level.

He is tall enough to disrupt passing lanes and has a frame that allows him to be physical holding the edge versus the run game. His long reach gives him a distinct advantage in keeping would be blockers off of his body. Devin is not merely a big body. His athleticism is a proven commodity as he a starting forward on the basketball team and ran one of the legs for his high school's 4X100 relay team. Bell's recruiting is just starting to heat up and Southern Miss being the first school to come forward with an offer is certainly not lost on Devin.

"The Southern Miss offer is very important to me considering that they are my first D1 offer. When coach Lindsey called me and broke it down I was very excited. He told me how much they like my athleticism."

When discussing what he is looking for in a program Devin said, "Playing time is really the biggest factor for me. I just want to be the best I can be for a program and find that perfect fit." I want a place that will help me get a good education. I'm thinking civil engineering as my major."

GoldenEaglePride asked Devin to describe his game." I'm the type player that leads by example. I don't do a whole lot of talking. I'm just a power defensive end coming off of the edge."

Bell's recruitment is starting to heat up as more of his film gets circulated.

" I'm mostly getting attention from Southern Miss, Purdue, Troy and WKU," Devin said.

Devin Bell will certainly be a recruit to keep an eye on. He plans to visit campus June 16th, as well as participate in the elite camp held that day.
