One common thread with the skill position athletes the Golden Eagles have been offering has been speed, and that is certainly the case in a recent offer to Lely HS (Naples, FL) WR/CB Jean Joseph.
Joseph, at 5'11, 160, looks like he is playing in fast forward on a video game. The electric play maker had a big off-season and is ready to show what he can do on the camp circuit this summer.
"The spring I really focused on hitting the weights and getting stronger," he told GoldenEaglePride.com. "Unfortunately, spring is now over. Everything is really going great for me, I'm just ready now to hit some camps."
Joseph picked up some good news when he received a visit at school from the staff at Southern Miss.
"Coach Nicholson came to my school and told my coach when he arrived he already knew who he was looking for, and he told me that he loves my film and said he wants me because I'm a straight playmaker," Joseph said.
"He also talked to me about Southern Miss and how the school is in conference play, and what I liked most is that the school will go up against anybody and that's huge."
He said he's going to take a visit to USM very soon.
"I'm not 100% sure yet, but I'll be coming by probably at the beginning of the summer," he added, while noting he has a very full summer slate.
"I have another offer from Bethune Cookman but other than that I hear from App State, Umass, and Middle Tennessee State a lot," he said.
"Other schools have personally invited me to their camps this summer."
