TyRee Evans from East Mississippi CC talks about his offer to Southern Miss

Southern Miss has found a lot of success through JuCo's in the past, and they look to continue that trend in the class of 2018. East MS OLB TyRee Evans talked about his offer to Southern Miss in this interview with GoldenEaglePride.com.

The Southern Miss staff is looking for a junior college outside linebacker that can enroll early and compete for that position in the spring of 2018. The need for a junior college athlete is necessitated by the departure of Isiah Spencer and Jacorey Morris. Also figured into the equation is that starter Sherrod Ruff and key reserve Evan Osborne are both rising seniors. Enter EMCC's TyRee Evans 6-2 210 4.5 40. TyRee is a long rangy backer originally from Wayne County High School. Evans can drop into coverage with ease and has the speed to blitz and run down plays from the back side. His recruiting is starting really heat up as his 2016 film circulates. Along with his Southern Miss offer he is drawing interest from Troy, FAU, Purdue, and Memphis.

GoldenEaglePride.com asked TyRee About his Southern Miss offer.

"On Friday, I was out in the yard catching up on things with my family. I noticed that coach Lindsey had contacted me on twitter. Shortly after we were able to have a good conversation on the phone. Coach Lindsey was easy to talk to and seemed to notice all of my potential. He mentioned my energy and will to get to the football. He told me that is something the USM defense needed. The offer from coach Lindsey and the USM staff is very important to me and I will consider the offer whole heartedly."

"I would like to think of myself as a relentless player. I believe I can make a play anywhere on the field," he said.

When discussing what he was looking for in a program TyRee said, "First of all I'm looking to pour my talent athletically into a program that will turn me loose on the field and let me reek havoc. Coach Stevens at EMCC told me that things are opening up for me recruiting wise. He says that if I continue to play the way that I have that I can go anywhere."

Southern Miss will be putting on several big elite camps in early June and TyRee plans to be there.

"I plan to attend Summer camp on June 16th. I am excited to show the football coaching staff that I am what they think I am athletically."

TyRee told me that he is a December graduate and plans to major in business. He will be getting back with GoldenEaglePride.comafter the June 16th camp and visit.
